WordPress Editor Interface Extremely Slow
-
I am on a premium plan and my website is doing fine, but the WordPress Editor, the interface, is extremely slow. Most of the time it doesn’t load things at all.
The AI helpdesk advised four possible fixes:
1- clear browser cache (did it)
2- browser compatibility (I’m on chrome.)
3- disable extensions (Disables all my browser extensions.)
4- check internet (My internet is quite fast. I am attaching a screenshot of a speedtest.)
5- try a different browser (I tried microsoft edge, it’s even worse, somehow. The main page doesn’t even open.)
What do you think might be the problem? I was hoping clearing cache and disabling extensions would do the trick, but it’s still the same… This has been going on for the past 2 days and before that i hadn’t checked my website for a long while. Again, i am on the premium plan.
Thanks for any help! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @giiray
Thanks for the details and explaining the issue. I checked the site and the Editor loads fine for me on my test, I have tried the frontpage and the recent post editor and it loads well.
Could you please check at your end if there are any errors in the browser console and share the screenshot with us so we can take a look and assist further?
Looking forward to your response so we can assist further! -
Hello, thanks for responding so quickly.
This is the screenshot:
And when i reload the page, the errors change and it’s this instead:

As you can see, it gave 388 “Third-party cookie will be blocked in future Chrome versions as part of Privacy Sandbox” errors, and once it stopped giving those i think that’s when it finally loaded the website.
When i reloaded the page, it took around 2-3 minutes before suddenly opening, and i guess the cookie error was just going up during that time. And this is the error when i click on Pages:

There seems to be multiple errors going on right now. What should i do?
Thanks for your help. -
Thank you for the screenshots!
The 3rd-party cookie warning does not affect the WordPress.com Editor operation in any way.
However, the
Failed to load resource: net::ERR_QUIC_PROTOCOL_ERRORshould be resolved by deactivating the experimental QUIC protocol in your Chrome browser. Here’s how to do it:
- In a new tab, type:
chrome://flags/and press Enter - In the search field, type
quic, and you’ll get a result saying, “Experimental QUIC protocol.“ - From its dropdown, change it from “Default” or “Enabled” to “Disabled.”
After this, restart your Chrome browser to apply the changes, and then retry editing your pages to see if this helped.
- In a new tab, type:

Hey it’s working! Thank you so much.
So by disabling QUIC, did i revert my browser back to TCP?
Why would QUIC not be working though?
In any case, everything is working as intended now. I’m able to launch the website without getting stuck, go on a draft and edit it properly and upload.
Thank you! -
It’s good to hear that disabling QUIC fixed up the various issues you were experiencing!
QUIC is an experimental protocol, so it isn’t yet fully supported by all applications. Like any experimental feature, that means it can cause unexpected problems. Disabling QUIC to revert back to the default TCP protocol is generally advised if QUIC itself is causing issues.
