WordPress email

  I have a friend trying to add me as a contributor to his WordPress site. He was asking for my email for my wordpress site i gave him what i thought was it, but he says wordpress dont recognize the email. Thats the only email i get all my wordpress emails through. Any ideas?

  If he’s not able to add you through email, ask him to try through your username., which is bikerryan.

  Go to settings > general in your dashboard and see what email address is there listed under “email address.” That is the main admin email and the one that all emails from wordpress will go to. That is also the one that they will have to use to add you to their site.

  The email address on my WordPress General settings page is the same one I gave him.

  Have the other person check and make sure they have not made a typo and have them try again.

  If that doesn’t work, report back to this thread and we’ll see if we can get staff’s attention so they can look into it for you.

  The problem I’m figuring is that I just downloaded WP to my server, Im not logging into actual WP. Do I make any sense lol? My site is http://www.fresnobmx.com if that helps. I just created this bikerryan WP to see if that would help. Thanx!

  What is your friends site URL?

  That is a WordPress.com blog alright.

  These are the instructions your friend needs to follow.

  Since you have a username on these forums, you do have a WordPress.COM account. Your friend needs to add the email address you used for that WordPress.COM account (not your self-hosted one).
