wordpress emails to new bloggers

Note: My former blog title was frenchconnected.wordpress — changed b/c it isn’t effective for SEO. The below post is about my experience w/ that blog title, not SO FAR w/ gallicfever.com
I know I can get fewer emails (change settings) but the process of sending a new blogger SURPRISE, INDIRECT notes “from” other bloggers is opaque to, and disconcerting to, a new blogger — at least it was to me.
Plus, a new blogger may not know ahead of time that wordpress is “exposing” a blog that’s online but unfinished — that the new blogger (esp. if coming from professional-writer, but not blogger, background) also does NOT YET want exposed!
Where are new bloggers advised BEFORE it happens, that wordpress will do this debatable favor for us??
    Thank you.

I think you may be asking for some kind of intervention with Google regarding indexing but we cannot help with that. It takes weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. What attracts search engines is unique content the cannot in posts that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Start now publishing original content posts frequently two or even three times weekly. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/

To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.

Note also that WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines

Lastly note that we cannot assist with search engine issues. They are between the blogger and the search engine. http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/

I mentioned SEO regarding my change of blog title but NO, I was NOT asking about SEO or google.
The inquiry is about wordpress sending me, as a new blogger, emails saying so-and-so likes your blog, blah blah.
Do you want me to cut and paste one of those emails from wordpress? Maybe you never received one?
THIS IS A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HAPPENS: wordpress “forwards” a new blogger SURPRISE, INDIRECT notes “from” other bloggers
AND THIS IS MY OBJECTION #1 : an opaque process new blogger doesn’t understand, and is disconcerted by– at least I was.
MY OBJECTION #2 : Plus, a new blogger may not realize upfront that wordpress is “exposing” a blog that’s online but unfinished — that the new blogger (esp. if coming from professional-writer, but not pro-blogger, background) also does NOT YET want exposed!
QUESTION: Where/how are new bloggers advised BEFORE it happens, that wordpress will do this debatable favor (described above) for us??
    Thank you.
