WordPress embedded in site – problems with RSS
-
We originally set up a blog on the main wordpress site (stripesfashion.wordpress.com) but were advised to embed the wordpress software onto our website and host server and import in our content, which we got our web designer to do. We now have a blog using wordpress software and control panels etc. at http://www.stripesfashion.co.uk/blog. I am really not an expert with computing and had got to grips with the wordpress site but can’t seem to get the version on my website to work in the same way. My problems are:
1. Can I delete/hide my stripesfashion.wordpress.com account or will that stop the one on my website working? People are subscribing to it through wordpress but it is no longer updated.
2. How can I add a RSS feed to stripesfashion.co.uk/blog to allow people to subscribe? It isn’t offered as an option on the dashboard.
3. Quite a few widgets and themes aren’t available to download. If I download a theme often features offered on a wordpress site aren’t available for my embedded version. Can I do anything about that?Hoping someone can help

1. We cannot delete our username accounts. If you delete the wordpress.com blog then there will be no content to draw by RSS Feed.
2. Does your website have the ability to draw from an RSS feed?
If so, then this is the RSS feed for the blog for posts (entries) http://stripesfashion.wordpress.com/feed/ and this is the RSS feed Url for your comments stripesfashion.wordpress.com/comments/feed/
If your website is NOT equipped to draw from RSS feeds then do be aware we do not provide support for that. We support only wordpress.COM free hosted blogs here.
You will have to write something in PHP or javascript to do that. Here are a couple options:

3. The in-house widgets for wordpress.COM blogs are not included in the wordpress.ORG download. They are only available to wordpress.COM bloggers.

3. cont’d re:themes
I think it’s important to know that wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG run on different software. WordPress.COM a WP-MU blogging platform. The themes here that were all originally coded to run on free standing wordpress.ORG software installs were “adapted” to enable them to run on wordpress.COM dotfware. Some features were eliminated as this is a WP_MU blogging platform and other features were added to the wordpress.COM versions. So even themes with the same name are not the same versions at wordpress.COM as the wordpress.ORG versions. -
The bottom line here is that you need to post to http://wordpress.ORG for support for your webiste as they are the keepers of that software.
Hope this helps and best wishes. :)
