  Hello,

  My domain expired a little while ago – and I would like to renew it. How would I go about doing that?

  We need details please.
  1. What is the domain URL?
  2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
  3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?

  Yes I have – I think my domain would be considered to be in the redemption period. However, I am unsure as how to next proceed in order to get it renewed.

  reclaimhonour.com is no longer in redemption – the domain expired back in February. It doesn’t appear to be currently registered anywhere, so you should go ahead and try re-registering the domain with us.

  When I tried to follow your instructions about registering the domain, this notice appeared. Should I click to map it? Or does that mean someone else bought reclaimhonour.com?

  reclaimhonour.com is taken.
  If you purchased reclaimhonour.com elsewhere, you can map it for C$17.00.

  Hey there,

  I contacted our registrar and reclaimhonour.com is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

  Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
  the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.

  Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

  I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.
