WordPress files for download
-
Hello,
I was perusing the themes the other day and came across an actual site that had a free ebook for download (PDF). I clicked on the link and it took me to a PDF page that had “WordPress/file” in the URL. How do you store files like that so one can offer a free ebook? Where is it stored?
Thanks!

See here please > Uploading Documents > http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/
Note: The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. If you are seeking to simply upload a document to your blog’s Media Library (no download link), you can check out Media -> Add New in your dashboard. http://support.wordpress.com/media/media-add-new/
If you want to embed the document itself, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.

Yes. All media you upload will be in your Media Library. The Media menu can be used to manage your existing media files, such as images, audio, videos, and documents.
