WordPress folder & authorization system
-
Hi Guys,
I am new to wordpress and need a little help please. I have a webserver http://www.mysite.com and I have installed wordpress in http://www.mysite.com/wordpress.
Now I want to create a newsletter and a blog (two independant section). Right now what happens is if I type http://www.mysite.com/wordpress then the default wordpress page opens.
Is it possible to have http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/newsletter – for newsletter and http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/blog/ for blog.
Secondly, I have a mysql database with username & password. I want only registered people to login to my newsletter (wordpress). WordPress does provide authorization plugins but I only know how my mysql database works and to get info from it.
What method should I use to ensure that only those users who are in my database are able to login and goto my wordpress page. One option is either I write a php and put wordpress in a protected folder. In php I write code to authenticate user. If successful I open wordpress. Is there any other alternative.
Will be glad if anyone can help me.
Thank you,
Cheers,
GR -
