WordPress for business

Hello, I am looking into signing up for wordpress for business and i wanted to see if someone could help me to understand the benefits of using for business vs premium. We have a holistic health practice and also plan to sell a few products and have clients be able to book appointments through a link on the website. Finally we will likely have a few videos on the site but would have online courses be a link on the site to where the video courses would be hosted.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Let me try and help you out.

Understand the benefits of using for business vs premium

With both of these plans, you will get a custom domain, unlimited themes (including premium themes), live chat & email support and other features included for everyone.

The Premium Plan offers 13GB storage space, simple payments, being able to monetise your site with WordAds and being able to upload videos.

The Business Plan offers all this (except unlimited storage rather than 13GB) but goes further, with the options to install a range of custom plugins being the most notable.

You can view the differences here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Plan to sell a few products

Okay, so, the Premium Plan offers “simple payments”. You can learn more here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/simple-payments/

However, the Business Plan offers far more options, and as I mentioned, you can install plugins. One of these is WooCommerce, which is extremely popular in selling stuff, but please be aware this is only for sites with the Business Plan currently: https://wordpress.com/plugins/woocommerce

Finally we will likely have a few videos on the site

Both the Premium and the Business plan offers the ability to add videos directly to your site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/videopress/

Would (like to) have online courses be a link on the site to where the video courses would be hosted.

This is the bit where you get several more options, which you may want to look into. There likely is a plugin out there which can offer the ability to do this more effectively (requires a Business Plan), or perhaps you’d like to stick with something as simple as a password protected page (available for everyone – but a downside is people could share passwords and it can look unprofessional)

    Password protected pages: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/

It really is up to you on how you would like to do it, and I’m not sure if I’d be able to give accurate details on specific plugins, so I’ll refrain from commenting too much on that topic, as there likely could be some other flaws.

For example, the video mentioned in this official article can be directly watched here: https://videopress.com/embed/OcobLTqC?hd=0&autoPlay=0&permalink=0&loop=0

Therefore, I can’t really comment on the last bit as I don’t wish to mislead you, but I hope I’ve helped elsewhere. If you are still looking for an answer, you can get one directly from staff by adding “modlook” to the tags section.

I hope that this helps, good luck! :)
