WordPress for Mac app Opens Blank, Won't Work

    The WordPress App just suddenly stopped working in mid-posting at one point. It failed to update even though I had a live connection. After I quit and restarted, the app opened up as a blank window with only a few blank placeholder rounded rectangles, and then actively opened up the editor on Safari (which made me wade through warnings about untrusted certificates).

    Apparently, now I can only post on a web page, while the WP app sits there useless.

    Has anyone else had this problem and found a permanent fix for it? Thanks!

    Hi there,

    Please follow these steps to fix this issue:

    1. Uninstall the WordPress.com app by using a program like AppCleaner. This program will completely uninstall the app and delete any cached files.

    2. Go to your Security page on your WordPress.com account and under the Connected Apps tab disconnect the WordPress.com Desktop App. Here’s a direct link to that page:

    3. Install the WordPress.com app again and re-connect your account.
