WordPress for making project specific websites in a big company

  Dear all,

  I hope you are able to answer a couple of questions regarding WordPress capabilities. My company (or my employer) is investigating alternatives to how we can easily make websites for project specific business cases. It is a company of a couple of thousands employees, with a potential of writing hundreds of such websites each year, just so you understand the scale. In that regard I have a couple of questions:
  – Is it possible to introduce the WordPress technology in a already existing domain? My company already have a domain, but we would wish to create a portal, through which several such project-specific websites will be available for our customers.
  – Is WordPress suitable for writing project specific reports? At the moment we are working with Word. Can we make writing, adding figures and references as easy in WordPress as in Word. The people writing reports are engineers with not much IT-experience.
  – Is it possible to automate the creation of project websites, with an already set design template, where you only add the writing and pictures?

  I appreciate any feedback, and potential redirection to other providers if WordPress do not work this way.
