WordPress forcing me to make a subpage my homepage.

    WordPress is refusing to allow me to make iandunt.com my front page. Even after I make the homepage the front page (using settings>reading>front page displays) it refuses to make iandunt.com the homepage. Instead, all the links to other content etc appear on iandunt.com/blog-2. No amount of fiddling and changing page categories seems to make the links which should be on the homepage appear on iandunt.com.

    Presumably I’m missing something but I can’t see what it is. Any ideas?

    Hi eurello,

    I’m afraid I haven’t. No matter what I do the dashboard refuses to make iandunt.com the homepage. If you go to it, you will see it is treating it like an updates page.

    I’ve gone through that ‘setting up your frontpage’ article several times and repeatedly tried to turn the iandunt.com page into a static frontpage, but it makes no difference.

    The dashboard only allows me to make a sub-page (ie: iandunt.com/blog-2 or iandunt.com/home-2) my homepage.

    Hi there – Currently http://iandunt.com/ lands on your Home page for me, the one that says “Why, it’s a homepage.”

    Is that not what you see? If not, can you try clearing your browser cache?

    I do note that your Home page is not to the far left of your menu. The easiest way to control the order of your menu tabs is to set up a Custom Menu in Appearance->Menus here:

    I went ahead and created and activated one for you that matched what you had, only with the Home tab first in the order. You can read more about how to edit that menu here:

    Is this how you want things set up now, or is there some other way you’d like it to look?
