WordPress Gallery Management

I’m messing around with a theme I’ve bought called Avada.

It’s seems to be pretty cool with lots of customisation and I’m slowly getting my head around how to edit it.

When I upload photo’s to the media gallery for display, I notice that it’s creating folders in my wp-content/uploads like 2015, 2016, 2017. I’m not sure why it’s creating folders or where it gets the year from as some of the photos I’ve uploaded were taken in early 2000’s.

Anyway, apart from that query, I’m also trying to implement the WordPress File Uploader. It was pretty straight forward to paste in the code, however, by default it’s uploading the images to the root folder of wp-content/uploads/example.jpg

The media gallery in WP doesn’t show this file that’s being uploaded, but it shows all of the images that I’ve replaced from the theme that are in these 2015, 2016 & 2017 folders.

I installed Enhanced Media Gallery thinking it might give me more browsing options but I don’t think it does. It’s certainly not helping to display the photo that is sitting in the root of wp-content/uploads

Can anyone offer some guidance here?

I guess I could change the upload path of the WordPress File Uploader to wp-content/uploads/2017 (for example) but SURELY there’s as easier way to have the media library just see all images in the uploads root?

    TIA guys.

    Hi ,
I guess you have a WordPress.org site , as the theme AVADA is not supported by WordPress.com.
As We have noticed that your site is a self hosted site, your best way to get help is
