WordPress getting less flexible with time
-
With time (I’ve been on WordPress.com for 10 years) the platform has become more restrictive. More and more features are lost from user experience and this does not stop with default or easy access to old-style Dashboard.
Two examples. Ten years ago WordPress allowed all users define blog meta, including blog description and keywords. Now this is possible only if you buy the most expensive plan.
Even a year ago WordPress let users choose post permalink structure. Not anymore. Not even on paid plans. This is ridiculous!
I might understand when features are taken away from free plans but stay in paid plans. But what about features completely taken away from here. Mind you these features are not connected with security concerns, which are cited when we are not allowed certain code. So there is no apparent reason for such limitations.
I wonder what other features I’ll no longer find in WordPress.com.
