  • Hello there,

Happy to help you with this.

In wordpress if I pruchase business plan, exactly gmb site (like this: https://shrisatibhavani.org/) is possible without coding knowledge?

Just to check, is this Google My Business you’re referring to? If yes, you could look to integrate via these instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/google-my-business-integration/

Point 2: If exact possible above point, then can I add any more customization on top of that?

What customisation are you looking to add?

    Many thanks.

    Hi,

Yes, I’m talking about Google My Business. I already made research about WordPress + GMB integration and that post as well I saw earlier.

Can you please check this: https://shrisatibhavani.org/

So, If I purchase WordPress business plan and link GMB with WordPress, then whatever current website is present, can that exactly possible without any coding knowledge?

Also if that possible, then I want more customization, like I want to add my social account logo and footer and on header I may want to add a button, so that I can open a new page and can add some more stuff.

  • Google My Business and WordPress.com are two entirely separate things.

What you have here won’t affect what you have there.

    Hi,

Answer is quite not matching with expectations. And I also feel that You’ve misunderstood my question.

    Let me ask you again.

    So, you’re saying that:

What you have here won’t affect what you have there.

But, I’m asking that, if I’m purchase business plan, and I linked GMB with wordpress, after that what will be the effect?

  • Hello there,

I linked GMB with wordpress, after that what will be the effect?

When the business is found on Google, the profile, the link through to your website from that profile and map location will be verified.

There’s more detail on that here: https://support.google.com/business/answer/9178191?hl=en-GB

    I hope that makes sense.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Please check: link

This is my business, and it is already verified. I’m asking you that whatever the current website I have and inside that whatever content is there, will that be remain same or not after GMB+Wordpress integration?

  • Let me make sure I understand. You are asking “will my site https://shrisatibhavani.wordpress.com/ change in any way after I connect it to Google My Business” correct?

If so the answer is “no” your WordPress site will not change. It will look exactly the same if it is now. When you connect your WordPress.com site to GMB, nothing about your site changes. It only helps your site to show up more in Google search results for people in your part of the world.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Let me make sure I understand. You are asking “will my site https://shrisatibhavani.wordpress.com/ change in any way after I connect it to Google My Business” correct?

I’m discussing about this site: https://shrisatibhavani.org/

So domain will be Google domain, hosting if I move to wordpress while or before doing GMB integration.

After that, what will be the effect?

  • Unknown's avatar

Let me explain in very detailed manner:

NOTE: First of all forget about this and assume that this is not exist: https://shrisatibhavani.wordpress.com/

    Part 1:

I claimed one Google business, and google sent me verification code and it gort verified successfully. Now I’m the owner of that particular business.

So I created one website through Google My Business. I didn’t made any single changes, it was available ready made by GMB.

After that I purchased my custom domain though Google Domain.

So, now this is the website: https://shrisatibhavani.org/

    Part 2:

In that readymade GMB default website, I can’t do any changes, except contact, time details etc. because they’re not offering.

But I want to add new thing according to requirements.

Let’s say in that footer, I want to add facerbook, instagram links. But there are 2 problems.

1st: I can’t make any changes to default GMB readymade website
    2nd: I don’t hv coding knowledge.

    Part 3:

So I got to know that in wordpress, there is some drag and drop functionality, with the help of that I can make some changes on top of my existing (https://shrisatibhavani.org/) website.

So the question is: If I link GMB with WordPress, also move hosting if require, then my current https://shrisatibhavani.org/ website will remain same? and Can I add that links in footer as well?

  • Hello there,

Many thanks for the additional information there.

To help with any decision making…

If the site is originally built using the site builder in Google My Business – you would not be able to move this to WordPress.com. Instead you would be looking to rebuild the site from scratch.

You can aim to achieve a similar design, but it will not be the same.

Google My Business can still work with WordPress.com – however you may need to re-verify the site with Google My Business. To get the domain working with WordPress.com, you would need to either transfer the domain, or connect the domain via DNS settings.

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

At WordPress.com – we use the block editor, there’s more on how this operates here: https://wordpress.com/support/video-tutorials/using-the-block-editor/

I hope this is all useful knowledge.

    Hi

    Thanks for the info.

You can aim to achieve a similar design, but it will not be the same.

So, will after integration, will it fetch and updates: timing, phone number, posts (which I create from GMB dashboard) ?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

This is not answering your question above and might not be what you would like to do now.

However, here’s my proposal to make your site better in terms of SEO & MEO points of view.

You already seem to know GMB’s pros and cons as shown in this topic.

On the other hand, a question comes to my mind.
Do GMB and wordpress sites have to be the same design?

    My answer is No.
Unfortunately, the GMB site doesn’t have enough flexibility and expandability in terms of your site development.
GMB is like a business card to support your local business. It’s quite powerful as a MEO tool.

If you think your site is important, including the SEO factor,
I will strongly recommend building your site to nurture with as much information as required.
Wordpress.com would be a smart choice if budget allows in the process of your site development.

I would be happy if you take my idea as one of your options.

    Hi

I want to stay with WordPress only. And I didn’t get my answer!

  • Hello there

So, will after integration, will it fetch and updates: timing, phone number, posts (which I create from GMB dashboard) ?

It show your GMB profile on your site, then yes.

In order to do this, you would need to use a plugin like the ones seen here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/google%20my%20business/

    I hope this helps.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi

    Got it.

So suppose this plugin, I read desc and installation process. but I’m exactly not sure that this require CSS, HTML knowledge or just drag and drop functionality is fine?

  • Hello there,

Looking at the documentation of the plugin, it looks like they use:

Once the Google Credentials are set, available shortcodes will be available to place in any page, post or use the widget

A shortcode looks something like this:

[shortcode text goes here inside square brackets]

Which can be placed in any text box for a drag and drop theme, or within a shortcode block inside of the block editor: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/shortcode-block/

    I hope this helps.
