WordPress going to the dogs?
-
Anyone noticed that the WordPress service is going downhill rapidly?
Lots of changes to WordPress which have not been fully tested?
And lots of little errors creeping in?Take the copy and paste from MS Word to a new post. Anyone upset at the fact that you then need manually check the paste because WordPress merges wordstogetherlikethis which is very annoying.
And SPAM from, IP address 174.120.139.66 – you blacklist it on discussions on the dashboard, yet you still receive alert emails, 100s of them.
And just how slow can WordPress get before users log off?Hey it’s a free service so why bother complaining, right? Except isn’t WordPress going to try to monetise its product and seek a few billion dollars on the stock exchange? Hopefully any buyers of WordPress stock might examine recent trends in the service.

A couple things.
in the four years or so years I have been here, you have never been able to copy directly from ms word to the wp text editor. This because the MS word uses its own code that is not the same as HTML code recognized by the editor, things get scrambled up.
better solutions: downloadable blog editors like Raven or Windows Live Writer

Thanks for message.
There is a MS Word Paste facility on WP which worked more or less fine until about six weeks ago when a change was made which mergeswordstogether like that. So I would disagree with you – WP did support Word and even has a special Word paste function. It just happened to change the functionality and as a result the facility doesn’t work. And I have read all the support notes.
With respect to a blacklisted domain, the problem first occurred last month and I received literally 100s of SPAM comments from that one IP address. There was no support available because WP were on another one of their team days. I blacklisted the IP address on the discussion section of dashboard. And still the spam comments and emails came, the emails come from WP of course. The next day, WP put a stop to the spam.
And then today, it starts all over again with the same IP address generating WP emails even though it is still blacklisted.
So appreciate your message but still think the criticism of WP is valid.

Any time WP.com undergoes a big redesign there are errors. I’ve been here for six years and seen MUCH worse.
The Paste From Word function never did work well in the first place. It still enabled people to screw up their blogs, and they did. Boy howdy did they ever!

Who needs MS Word, anyway? Just draft your posts elsewhere. There are lots of ways to do that.
