WordPress Hacked, features lost
-
Hi all,
Ok so one of my subscribers pointed out to me that my site might have been hacked as the main home page is redirecting to a site offering illegal copies of windows 7…if you google thedk.co.uk or the diet kitchen, the link to my website takes you there. I called godaddy and they recommended I purchase and install sitelock, which I did, it scanned my site and found a few things wrong with it, mainly the redirect and the out of date version of wordpress I’m running (4.0.11).
They say the malware has been removed but the redirect is still there…Now, I’m trying to install a new version of wordpress and used to have a one click button option, that has been removed and for the life of me have no idea how i’d go about updating manually, despite the various guides. I also cannot install new plugins like I used to, forgive me if wordpress actually removed this function themselves.
I also can’t edit .php files under the appearance tab like I used to also (wanted to turn on auto updates) etc.
Any help??
Cheers!

Good Morning – I’m sorry to hear about all this trouble you are dealing with. Self hosted sites using WordPress.org need to post at http://wordpress.org/support for help.
WordPress.com (here) is very different from WordPress.org. Those differences are outlined here to help with any confusion: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Sorry I can’t help you, but the folks over at WordPress.org will be able to do so. Take care :)
