WordPress hangs indefinitely during composition of new blog post

  I’m attempting to write a new post. Have tried twice. WordPress hangs either when I attempt to attach a photo or when I attempt to write text in the text box area. What’s up? I’ve only been using wordpress for a week so I don’t know if this is the normal order of things – but it’s not encouraging. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
