WordPress hangs on Generating Preview

    I’ve run into this a lot, not always, but a lot. When I’m working on a post and I select Preview in a new Tab, a new tab opens that has an animated graphic of the letter W and the words Generating Preview. It hangs there and never advances.

    Is this something on the WordPress end or a failure for WordPress to communicate with my browser which is Safari 11.1.2, or ? My connection seems OK.

    It seems that if I open the draft post fin a new page or refresh the existing page then the preview will draw, but I also get a message “There is an autosave of this post that is more recent than the version below.” I have not been able to figure out how to deal with that, but that might be best left for another discussion.

    Am the only one having the Generating Preview issue or is it a known glitch? What’s the best way to deal with it

    Hi there,

    Have you checked that the browser version you using is updated. If yes and still the same lag continues, I would suggest try using a different browser maybe Google Chrome, if that helps.

    Also, trying to refresh the cache can help : https://www.refreshyourcache.com/
