WordPress has a bad habit of Suspending
-
So, I turn on the computer today to find that *Gasp* my blog has been suspended! But why? Well, the answer to this question escapes me. There is no bad content on my site. I worked hard on it, very hard. I read through to make sure I could post the things I posted…
I contacted support ASAP. No reply yet. This is honestly outrageous. And after doing many searches about this online for about an hour… I see a disturbing pattern in WordPress’ habit of suspending for the most frivilous thing.. meanwhile blogs of bombing america are still up and running.
I know it says that you aren’t obligated to contact us before you destroy our hard work, but perhaps you may want to adopt this into your new TOS. Perhaps give us, the consumers, a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bit more respect. Atleast make the effort to contact us and inform us of what is going on and WHY. I don’t see any logical reason as to why this was not adopted from the start. Bad business management, perhaps? One can only assume.
This is just a tad bit disappointing.
WordPress – I expected a lot more from you.
Anyone else going through this ???
Here’s to hoping I get a response.

Please keep in mind that Mark lives in the UK – a different time zone and that he has a very large work load. WordPress.com is growing very rapidly. As far as I know each and every suspension is investigated prior to action being taken. Moreover the policy is found in the FAQs http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/06/01/my-blog-has-been-suspended/

Oh really? Great, thanks for the info! The only thing left is to be patient… oh how hard it is when mad. But I’ll manage..
-
I’m sure you feel frustrated but mistakes do happen in all things in life. Support is still open for another 45 minutes so perhaps you will hear today rather than having to wait until Monday.
IMHO which is based on answering questions for hours almost every day on this forum for a year, the number of mistakes when it comes to suspensions have been very few indeed. If you have done nothing wrong (ie. no ToS breach) then there’s no need to be upset because you will get the blog back. http://wordpress.com/tos/

Rarely make mistakes? Well…
I just got this response…

Hi,
I am sorry that this happened due to a technical glitch today.
Your blog is fully functioning now.We will streamline the process and make sure this won’t happen again in the future.

My blog is totally gone as well. I have no idea why. Your outcome makes me hopeful, but I’m worried that all my work is gone due to some mistake that I didn’t intentionally make. But will I lose this bad feeling that I have for WordPress.com? I don’t know…
-
Are you talking about 4clubbs.wordpress.com? If you are, I just checked and it came up just fine.
-
but I’m worried that all my work is gone
Everyone’s blogs are all backed up and can be returned.
-
My blog at http://podcastjunky.wordpress.com/ has been suspended too!
Maybe WordPress has been bought by Facebook… after all… isn’t this the type of thing that Facebook does? … suspend people’s accounts without warning?

I think it’s a bug going around. I think I read that Lorelle’s blog was suspended and she’s a top blogger here and is set to speak at the WordCamp Israel conference. But it was a bug though.

The service I’ve liked… until now… the partonising and holier-than-thou and I-know-all-the-answers attitide of some of the members who think they run the show… I don’t…

Hi solentdreams.
I’m experiencing the same problem as you are.
I hope you get your blog restored soon too.Do contact support if you haven’t already.
Hopefully it’ll get worked out quickly. -
http://podcastjunky.wordpress.com/ is fixed.
Please leave me full addresses – I can’t guess from usernames.

Might be easier on Mark if you report suspended blogs due to the problems yesterday in the sticky thread:

Look, the last thing I want to do is sound like a moderator, but since we have no active moderators keeping this stuff in check I have no choice:
If you have a problem with the way another user has answered your thread, their general attitude, how they’re pretending to be staff, whatever… please don’t respond directly in the thread as it will only bring down the thread further. Take it to their blog, take it to staff, put a modlook tag on the thread, I don’t really care, but bear in mind that we are all trying to operate without mods here and the more civil we can be towards each other the easier that’s going to be.

mark has already read through this post, so stay on point everyone and refer to what I said above. If you are experiencing a suspension in error, post your blog URL in the sticky thread at:
