WordPress has an invalid security certificate

We tried signing up for a WordPress.com blog in Firefox, Windows 7. From 3 different laptops we all received the same message saying that https://en.wordpress.com is an insecure site with an invalid security certificate. When we clicked through all the ‘trust anyway’ buttons the site layout was in plain text (?) or not html enabled (?) and we were unable to sign up.

After trawling through the support forums here, it seems that some people view it as a WordPress issue, some think it’s https:// vs http://, and others think it’s a disparity between the date and time set to individual computers.
I have no idea what the actual answer is, but thought I’d post what I’d collected in case anyone else finds they’re having the same issue.Thank me later :-)

if the server time and the your pc time differ it too causes the same, even you ant access the internet properly
