WordPress has slowed to a crawl. Do other people have same urgent issue?

What is going on with the WordPress web site?
For the past 5 days, no matter when I try to add fotos to my galleries or work on their captions, the site slows to a crawl. My browser and other web sites appear to be working fine. It seems to make no difference what day or time of day I try it.
Is this possibly because I’m a free member of WordPress – that is, I pay for none of the serivces? Are they freezing us out?
I’m basically shut down. It takes an infinity of time to type in a few words in a caption box because it freezes for several seconds after every couple of words. Clicking from one foto to another takes a painfully long time.
The page fogs out frequently so you can just barely see it; in a few seconds it clears.
The following msg pops up from time to time:

I waited for 5 days to post this urgent complaint, but it seems the problem is not going to go away. Is anyone else facing this total obstacle to use of WordPress???

Who is your ISP?

With the particular warning you mentioned, could you run a traceroute to s2.wp.com using the instructions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/ and paste the results here, in addition to the suggestions of timethief.
