  Hi

  Would anyone know if its possible to use Avada theme on a wordpress.com hosted service (on their business plan) i see they do allow uploading of themes & plugins so figure this should be ok?

  That is correct, on plan Business you can use any WordPress compatible theme as well as third-party plugins.
