Hi! We’re happy to help provide information, could you let us know more about your current setup so we can suggest what would be the best plan?
We do have some general information regarding migrating a “self-hosted” WordPress site to WordPress.com!
- If you’re not using a WordPress.com Business plan here, then you’d want the basic content import: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-a-sites-content/
- If you need to use plugins on your site, then you’d want either the Business or eCommerce plan here on WordPress.com; and there’s a site migration option here:

Hello! Thanks for your response! I am not a developer, I was asked to take care of our website hosting which needs migration from GoDaddy to WordPress. The website is built on WP, with the details showing as WordPress.org. I am trying to contact the live chat support to get instant response but the page is directing me to forums page.
However, I see that for a Business plan, you are charging about €25 per month if billed annually! Also, there are a lot of other hosting platforms on the market with lesser prices! Can you explain why there’s this difference in pricing? What additional features do we get because we are having an issue with email routing, people who send requests are not hitting our inbox. We have been told that upon migrating to WordPress hosting, this email issue should be fixed.
Any help on this is greatly appreciated! Our website is https://norrandecho.com/

Just to clarify, we (that is WordPress.com) provide live chat support for sites that are hosted here with us – we’re a host similar to GoDaddy, except that our services focus exclusively on building sites with WordPress, that we host.
Basically, there are two ways to use WordPress, you can either use the WordPress software downloaded from WordPress.org onto a web host like GoDaddy (also known as self-hosted), or you may host your site with us here at WordPress.com. You can learn more about the general differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here – it may answer some of the billing questions too:
https://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Our Business plan actually bundles in some features which may otherwise be purchased separately via other hosts – we provide 200gb storage for your site with the Business plan, as well as hosting features like SFTP (SSH FTP – a method of accessing/managing the files on your site), daily backup so you can restore the site to a previous state if there are problems with plugins or themes, the SSL certificate for your site, and the live chat support which is open 24/7 for Business plans (along with email support too). We also don’t have a “visitor limit” as such.
Your email issue on your site sounds like it might be something more to do with the settings on your site; though of course as it’s not hosted here that isn’t something I can help check directly, although you may wish to look into an SMTP plugin for the site.
If you did want to see a little more about what the Business plan offers, we have a document here:

Good morning! Thanks for your response! We would like to go for the WordPress Hosting and gonna move the services from GoDaddy. Can you provide me with the steps to perform the hosting migration?

Absolutely, and welcome! The general overview is here:
https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/What we’d suggest would be to first install the Jetpack free plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack on
norrandecho.comand ensure that it’s connected to this WordPress.com account of yours. This is because the Jetpack connection for your current site, and your Business plan for the new site here on WordPress.com do need to be associated with the same account. Then, when you’ve purchased the Business plan here on WordPress.com (the annual plan has a 14-day refund period), you can start the migration process for the site content. We’d definitely suggest leaving the domain name until last, so that it’s only moved over once you’re happy that everything is looking as you expect on this end!
I had a look at the public WHOIS data for
norrandecho.comand it looks like you’re using Microsoft Office 365 for email services, if I understand correctly? Whether you choose to transfer or connect the domain here on WordPress.com, you’ll want to consider if you’re continuing with Microsoft for the email services – if you are continuing with them, then please do ensure to also collect your DNS records for the email service, so it can continue functioning after the migration. Thank you so much for providing the input. We started the migration process and following the required steps given by the wordpress support, however while updating the wordpress to 6.1.1, we got a timed out message and then we have lost access to backend! Can you please help us rolling back to the previous versions.

We only have access to and can only affect your website hosted with us. Unfortunately, we have no special access to the site you’ve updated over at GoDaddy where you are seeing that critical error message, so our hands are a bit tied in being able to help there.
Since GoDaddy hosts that WordPress instance, they have the access to and the ability to help find the plugin or theme causing that critical error and help you get the site back online and updated to 6.1.1 so you can start that site migration. Usually, it’s caused by a conflict between WordPress and a plugin or theme, so GoDaddy should be able to identify the culprit and temporarily disable it so you can log back into your site.
Let us know if you have any questions or need help with anything else on our end!
