WordPress HTML editor frustration

As a previous user of blogger.com, I’m pulling what’s left of my hair out trying to understand the infuriating WordPress HTML editor, which seems to lack some basic functions like ALIGNING TEXT (aside from doing other bizarre things like editing out HTML that I intentionally put in and moving the cursor into strange places all on its own).

Is it just me, or shouldn’t it be as easy as **one intuitive click of the mouse** to make photo captions line up UNDER the photos, as they would if there were a CENTER TEXT button???

See the unaligned examples on my blog:

Can someone explain how to get these to line up underneath the pictures, without my having to read a 300-page dissertation on CSS?

    Thanks.

How are you adding the captions? If you add them to the image in the Image Uploader, they should align together with the image. If you add the captions after inserting the image in the body of your post, you need to align them separately.

You just highlight the whole thing in the visual editor and click Align center.

(But first you need to remove the Blockquote tags you’ve introduced.)
