WordPress ID (via Jetpack) and WordPress ID to comment.
-
I have a WordPress ID (via Jetpack and my self-hosted blog) but cannot use it to post comments on other people’s blogs.
Blog url: http://blog.pinsofwar.net/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Could you please send the links of the other blogs you are referring to?
Screenshots are a huge help – can you please send screenshots of the issue so we can better understand the issue? Please see http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ for information on making screenshots.

Any WordPress-hosted blog.
Here is one…
I also get this when I try to change the convoluted username
-
When you enter your username (second screenshot), there’s a space behind it. Try to use backspace to remove that space, and give it another try.

Could you try to click on the ‘Preview’ button first when commenting? It’s the button on the right below the comment form.
Otherwise you can try going to settings > open ID in your dashboard and add the URL of the blog to your “trusted” sites.
-
Preview returns the same error
Here’s a few more blog’s where I cannot post (again, same error, “you do not own that identity.. same identity I post here.)

There is no “open ID” in my dashboard, as I have a self-hosted blog and the WordPress.com identity through jetpack.

I’m sorry for the confusion. Open ID only works with WordPress.com accounts, not with Jetpack-enabled WordPress.org blogs.
Feel free to create an account at WordPress.com in order to use Open ID.
-
I’ve considered that. But can I link it to my existing wordpress ID? I.e. the one I post with here. Seems rather convoluted to keep track of 2.
-
No, the WordPress.com OpenID only functions if you have a publicly accessible WordPress.com blog matching your username, for example sebastiangehart817694524.wordpress.com.
