wordpress identity

WordPress is telling me I do not own the baywithchrome identity so I can’t post comments on other people’s blogs under that identity, even though it is. This was not the case yesterday. What happened to make it different?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No WordPress.com is not telling you that. Blogger ie. blogspot.com software is when you try to comment on a Blogger blog. Please read Crazymaking Blogger Comment Settings

And which blogs? Blogspot blogs? If so, that happens a lot because OpenID is messed up and doesn’t understand WordPress.com. There’s nothing you can do other than use the “name/URL” option to post instead of the OpenID one.
-
The one I just had a problem with was a Blogspot blog. I use the Name/url choice when it is there, but not every blog commenter selection has that.

Are you trying to use Open ID to comment? My experience is that Open ID is prone to failure so I no longer use it. It’s not the fault of WordPress.com that it does not work as intended.
Please try this:
Log out of WordPress.com and all sites you’re attempting to log into with your WP OpenID.
Clear your browser cookies:

Try logging into the other site with your OpenID again. If that does not work then go to your OpenID settings at Settings > OpenID and remove Bloggeras an authorized site Try it again and your will be asked to authorize the first time you comment thereafter.

I logged out and cleared the cache and cookies and logged in again, but I am still getting a page saying I don’t own the identity I ma trying to sign in with. I don’t know if it is an Open ID thing – I never signed up for that, so I don’t have settings to change with it. The blogs I am having problems with list WordPress as a separate option from Open ID to sign in with to comment, and those are the ones I am having a problem with. It is a WordPress page that I get telling me I don’t have that identity, though I am able to get into my own blog. As I aid before, I always use the Name/url choice to sign in with if it is there, but it is not always listed as an option.
This just started happening yesterday for me.

I’m having the same problem. It has always worked before but just yesterday it started saying I don’t own the wordpress identity I am signing in with. This has happened on several blogs.

Yes and it’s not a WordPress.COM issue and what you can do about it has already been posted and linked to above.

When you first spoke of Open ID settings, my addled brain was thinking you meant finding an Open ID site where settings were (duh), but later it clicked that there were Open ID settings on my WordPress dashboard. I had removed the cookies and cache earlier, and it didn’t help, so I went on to the second part of your instructions. Nothing changed at first, but today I am able to comment again. I guess sometimes it just takes a day or two. Thanks.
