WordPress import stuck and running for days already

  I started an import and it is not making any progress and I cannot cancel it. Can one of the staff help me with this and cancel the import?

  I’ve read other posts that had the same issue, but are already a couple of years old. Why is it not possible to cancel such an import or why does it not fail with an error message if there’s something clearly wrong?
