WordPress is saying my domain doesn't exist?

About a week ago, I changed my domain. I’ve been making changes and redesigning the website (with my new domain name) for about a week now. Today, when I tried to access my blog, a screen appeared saying the domain does not exist. I don’t want to ‘register the domain’ again in fear that all my changes/redesigning will be cleared.
I need help. What happened? How do I get back to editing and posting like I’ve been doing the past few days? I was thinking maybe I should just wait a day or so to see if it self-corrects? Any help is appreciated.
