WordPress is saying my domain has been expired even though I am registered with GoDaddy
-
Hi,
My domain is registered in GoDaddy through 2020, but whenever I try to access my site through WordPress, it is saying that my domain has expired. I have the free plan with WordPress but I thought I could still edit my site? I contacted GoDaddy but they said it was a WordPress issue.
Thanks,

Hi jginn01,
It’s not that your domain expired but your subscription with WordPress has expired. The subscription is related to mapping your domain mymise.com to your WordPress blog. Your WordPress is still accessible at mymisedotcom.wordpress.com (with a popup of domain expiration).
Have you tried to check your ‘Manage Purchases’ section: https://wordpress.com/purchases to see if there’s an expired purchase of domain mapping?
Otherwise, you can remap your domain by following steps mentioned on this support page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Hope that helps

Thank you for the reply.
How come my wordpress.com site (mymisedotcom.wordpress.com) still has the domain expiration pop-up though?
Thanks

That’s because your blog (mymisedotcom.wordpress.com) still has the domain mapping upgrade for mymise.com.
To cancel your upgrade, go to ‘Manage Purchases’ through this URL https://wordpress.com/purchases/ then cancel the upgrade for mymise.com. You can also refer to this support page for detail instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/#canceling-upgrades
Let me know if that helps.
