WordPress is tweeting unwanted content to my Twitter
-
wordpress is posting to my twitter feed (@ProfJulieMac). The content is not my content nor is the content from any blogs that I follow. The content is posted automatically and I can’t find any setting that has prompted wordpress to do this. The content is mostly posts about wordpress such as new formats and weekly features, etc. This is of serious concern to me because it is making my feed look like it’s been infected by spam. It appears to have been happening for about 6 months.

There are two tweets in your twitter account from “WordPress.com”
https://twitter.com/ProfJulieMac/status/379765285236252672
and
https://twitter.com/ProfJulieMac/status/377595594405330944Both are using the OW.LY URL shortener. That means the Hootsuite program is being used to share those links on your twitter account.
If you look at the tweets that were used to publicize your posts from your WordPress.com site to twitter, such as
https://twitter.com/ProfJulieMac/status/394811485589106688
and
https://twitter.com/ProfJulieMac/status/389399884383940609Those tweets are using WordPress.com’s WP.ME URL shortener.
I also see that your twitter profile states, “Account managed by @jattfield” Perhaps you should start there?
