WordPress isn't Allowing me to Pick a Blog Subdomain for a Blog I want to make
-
I’m having problems selecting a free blog subdomain. I’d like to make the blog robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog, but wordpress won’t let me select it. When I type it like that in the domain selector, it will give me paid options, or robertleebrownblindpoetry.wordpress, but not the free option for robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog – what the hell is going on now? I haven’t had a chance to go to bed yet, I’m quite irritated, and frustrated to boot. I don’t know why it won’t let me select it, as I know the subdomain in question isn’t taken. Can someone please help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It seems robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog has been taken an redirects to https://poetry.blog/. To be sure, wait for help from Staff.
-
Multiple things seem to redirect there. blindrobertbrown does too. I’ve been trying to recreate an old brand of mine from years ago, robertleebrownblind and/or blindrobertbrown but I’m starting to think all options iwth those are taken. Which will suck something terribly if that’s the case.

Nope, it’s still not allowing me to do so. When I put in robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog or blindrobertbrown.poetry.blog, neither comes up as options. The only free option it supplies is some random and similar thing . wordpress.com as the free option.

I would if I could. But my screen reader doesn’t read anything, buttons or controls wise, when I try to do anything with the link you provide.
-
You probably need to clear cache or try a different browser but I appreciate that might be time consuming for you. Out of curiosity, I tried and your preferred address came up for me. I’m almost tempted to create the site and then transfer ownership to you. Perhaps a member of staff could do that if your screen reader is causing issues.

Whoops, WordPress erased my latest response. Yeah, I already tried dropping my cashe and refreshing my history, and that didn’t work. I also tried a different browser, but I got the same results. I seem to be at a standstill at this point. This is really weird.

We’ll add you to the site as an administrator first, and then it’s as simple as setting you as the new owner. We might even be able to skip that step, I may try to get creative. :)
I forgot to ask a key question.
You meantioned “robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog or blindrobertbrown.poetry.blog”
Which one did you want?
-
-
Just let me know whether you want robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog or blindrobertbrown.poetry.blog
-
robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog and if possible, to be set back to classic editor. But I can ask about that once I have possession of the blog/site.
-
Ok, you are now the proud owner of https://robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog/ set to the Classic Editor! :)

Okay, this is weird. I can access it, yet when I go to wp-admin, it doesn’t list it as one of my blogs. This is totally weird. I see a robertleebrownblindpoetry.wordpress blog, which I don’t remember making, but no robertleebrownblind.poetry.blog. What’s going on here?
-
That’s odd, there might have been a delay.
It definitely looks like it should be working properly now from this end.
Would you please check again?
