WordPress keeps changing my html when I check via visual editor.
-
I am not trying to do anything fancy, all I want to do is shrink the font which is large enough for someone legally blind.
I have tried all sort of font hmtl, problem is wordpress will move the html code around or erase it entirely. I have searched the other posts on here and tried the things suggested with no success.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ps I am putting code in the text editor, not visual editor, just so no one thinks I am that daft, lol.
-
from what I read it is the WYSIWYG that causes this problem but not sure how to disable the visual editor, and don’t want to pay 100$ a year to have slightly smaller font.

Changing the way the theme is designed to function is not possible. Only limited appearance changes are possible, provided you have the required upgrades.
WordPress.com sells bundles upgrades. We can “preview” changes in the theme customizer http://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ that do not actually display on the blog unless we purchase the upgrade.
Do you have the Premium bundle of upgrades http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ or the Business bundle of upgrades http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/ that both include the custom design upgrade?
As you did not register your username account prior to September 1st, 2014 and that was the cut-off date for purchasing the custom design upgrade as an individual upgrade, you will have to purchase the Premium bundle to get it.
What I post below applies to all themes free and premium (paid).
If you are into fiddling about with font families, sizes and/or colors on each and every post you make by using the Text editor (HTML editor) then you can change it in the body text in posts and pages. But for changing it in Titles and widget headings you need to purchase an upgrade.
These are 3 ways to change fonts on WordPress.com blogs.
(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the Text ie. HTML editor. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/
(2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2
(3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#custom-fontsIf you have not purchased the Premium bundle that contains the custom design upgrade note that no changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header, etc. which are stated on the theme description pages in the features column (right hand side) will be visible to visitors.
Premium bundle details http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-de
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editisign/ng-css/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/If you are using the preview mode for the Custom Design upgrade some of the settings in that mode will save but they won’t show up on the front end unless you purchase the upgrade.
To go back to the free options, go to Appearance → Themes → Customize → Colors and click the “exit the preview” link in yellow at the top of the panel on the right.

Dear Timethief,
I understand it is probably tiring to answer user questions over and over again. However as I stated I am trying to edit the html via the editor as recommended in option (1).
However…
WYSIWYG keeps breaking, altering, changing, erasing any html I attempt to enter in the text editor. How do I delete or disable this function?
-
-
Also one more clarification, the body text is all I am attempting to edit as it far far too large.

You cannot disable it.
Please post the exact code you are using here between code tags and we will uncover what is actually going on for you.

I decided just to host my own for 10$ a year and do what I need. Not paying 100$ a year to change a font. It is a shame I probably can’t get my 13$ back i paid to map my domain to my blog before finding this out.
