WordPress likes not showing up?

  Hi there,

  I have been receiving notifications that people are liking my posts but when I go to the post, there are no likes. I first noticed the problem when I started my other blog thepoetrychallenge.wordpress.com when I would receive tons of emails regarding multiple posts, and nothing would show up on the actual post. I recently wrote an article on my main blog, eccentricchai.com and this particular post has been receiving about 30 views a day, but absolutely no likes. That’s why I’m concerned. Then this morning, I posted an article and it said I received two likes (on my notifications) and there are no likes on the post.

  It seems to work off and on. Sometimes the likes will work and other times they don’t.

  Hi Lina,

  We’ve had a few reports of likes sporadically not loading for people, but so far, we haven’t been able to consistently reproduce it. Sometimes it seems like it might be a connection issue or a browser issue, and sometimes not.

  On the two posts you linked to, I see 5 likes on the first and 2 on the second.

  To help us investigate this, can you please provide a bit more information:

  1. Next time you receive a like notification but don’t see a like on the post, can you please try reloading the post in your browser and see if the like appears on the reload?

  2. If it doesn’t, can you please make a screenshot of the like notification and also a screenshot of the like section of the post (where it isn’t showing up)?

  You can upload it to your blog’s Media Library and I can look at it there.
  3. Can you also load that same post in an alternate browser such as Chrome or Firefox and let me know if the missing like shows up in that browser? That’d help us rule out a browser-related issue.
