WordPress link picture missing

Hello, I’m a newbie to building websites. I’ve googled this but I don’t think I’m asking the question correctly but I’ll try.

When I link my website there is no picture/icon with the link. How do I fix this? It’s just a blank.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
It’s great that you have started your blog page. It’s not clear what you are trying to do. Would you please elaborate more?

What I understood is you want to add a link on your website which will have a picture. So, anyone clicking on that picture will redirect to the link added. Please let us know if we are on the same page.
    Thanks

I tried to add a photo that will demonstrated exactly what I mean, but it doesn’t appear I can do that.

So, for example, when I’m in facebook and I provide a link to my website, the picture/icon one would usually see with the link is a blank. I’m not sure how else to explain it without benefit of a photo.

    Hi,
For that you will have to set a featured image for the page or post. So that, when you will be sharing the link it will appear there. For selecting featured images on your home page 1) Go to your_site-> Pages-> All pages.
    2) Open the homepage in the editor.
    3) On the next screen from settings you will find a sidebar on the right where there will be a section named “Featured Image”
    4) Set featured image by clicking on the “Set featured image”
Don’t forget to update after selecting image from media. :)
    See here on Screenshot

Please know more here about the featured image. https://wordpress.com/support/featured-images/

Hope it will solve your problem.
    Thanks.

  • Hi there,

Just adding this link that deals specifically with the preview that’s generated when you share a post on Facebook:
