WordPress login trouble
-
I currently have two WordPress websites and I’ve lost the passwords to both. When I try to reset my password for my two sites via email I do not get an email with the password. The websites I have are http://www.newleafeditions.com/ and http://www.bimpe.com/
I DO get emails from WordPress to reset my account when I type in my email but the website associated with the email is empty. Please advise. -
newleafeditions.com is hosted by SiteGround
bimpe.com is hosted by SiteGroundThat site is not on our WordPress.COM servers. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, and many people get confused about the two.
The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
This is wordpress.COM support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

If I have a website with WordPress.ORG , wouldn’t I have an account that I could sign into?
None of my emails or usernames are recognized.
Thanks for your advice -

WordPress.COM does recognize my login username but doesn’t send me an email with a password.
-
Go to https://wordpress.com/me/account and check which email account has been used to register this username account.

Hi there,
If I have a website with WordPress.ORG , wouldn’t I have an account that I could sign into?
No, you won’t, because you don’t have a website with WordPress.org, you’re only using the WordPress.org software.
WordPress.com is a hosting platform, so with us you need to sign up for an account to use our services, like your username account, peterbraune, which you’re using to post here.
WordPress.org is just the website where you download the WordPress software. You can create an account on WordPress.org, but all that will do is allow you to post in the forums there. It’s not a requirement to use the software.
That software is installed on a server at a hosting provider, like Bluehost, Pressable, or in the case of your sites, Siteground.
When you installed WordPress with Siteground, a username and password were created for each of those two sites respectively. Those passwords are specific to the individual sites, so are not the same as your WordPress.com password, and not even the same as your Siteground account password either.
If the password reset option on the login screens for those sites are not working, you’ll need to get Siteground’s help to access your sites’ server, so you can go directly into the database and change the password there. You can find instructions for what you need to do once you have server access here:
