WordPress logo appears on Facebook status instead of my own logo?

Just starting blogging and I put my first blog posting on my Facebook page. (I did it manually, cutting and pasting the link from my blog into my status box). When I hit share, it added a logo (my blog posts are all text). Problem is, it added the stock Giant W WordPress Logo. I’d rather have it show no logo/image — or show the photo I have in my header that I use as my banner (I use Pilcrow and put a custom photo in that header space)

Any advice? How can I change the logo that is used when I post a link to a post on FB?

  • Unfortunately, it’s entirely up to Facebook to decide which images it picks (if any).

It looks for images that meet a certain criteria and picks the first few it finds. Unfortunately, that criteria tends to change a lot these days, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It’ll just drive you crazy.
