WordPress logon / posting problems
-
I have not been able to post to my blog all day. When I go to WordPress’ main page, no log-on options show up. When I go directly to my blog I am able to access my account by clicking “edit” on my About page, although the header that usually appears at the top of my account (that lets me edit all my blogs) is missing. When I try to make a new post, the text doesn’t show up (though when I highlight it I can see that it is in the text box, you just can’t see it. When I try to publish these “ghost posts” nothing shows up at all.
Please help! I need to publish some blog posts tomorrow night as part of a homework assignment. I have tried restarting my computer and clearing my browser’s cache and cookies, but no luck.
Thanks!
CassieThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://cassieharwood.wordpress.com/wp-admin will always get you into the blog. You can put in the meta widget, which has a login link in it.
Have you changed your security settings? There are reports that some ISPs are blocking certain parts of WordPress.com, but you should be able to get around that and post by using an offline blog editor like Blogdesk or Windows Live Writer.

I went to the cassieharwood account but it’s having the same problems w/loading posting and other features and is also missing the navigation on the top that usually lets me jump between my different blogs.
My roommate may have done something to my ISP’s security settings this morning, though I’m not sure…he’s not at home so I cannot ask and figure out how to remedy it if that’s the case.
I’ll try downloading Blogdesk and let you know how that works. Thanks for the super quick response!

Ohhh looks like both these programs only work for Windows systems? Are there any that can be used w/Macs?

A day later and the wordpress dashboard is still not loading on my computer. If it’s an issue w/my computer’s ISP security settings, does anyone know how to fix this??

Is there any other explanation? My teacher said he did a twitter search and found other people were having the same issue.

A Twitter search? If you just look around the forum you can find about five threads on this on the front page right now. Thousands of people are having this problem, which is one of the things that makes us think it’s an ISP problem.
If you look at those threads you’ll find there are several possible causes, but the ISP changing its settings is the most likely.
