PROBLEM: Original ticket was closed by WordPress.com staff, but problem seems to be not fixed.
The original ticket dated Jun 4, 2021 is at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/wordpress-lost-my-2020-theme/ .
The last Staff reply was on Jun 8, 2021, “our team is still working on resolving this issue”, and “as soon as we have an update we will let you know here”.
The topic is now marked “closed to new replies”, but the problem seems to be NOT yet fixed.

EXAMPLES:I just tried changing background color; the theme still appears to be FAILING save the changes.

Hi there,
This bug has been fixed but we are still finding there are a few site owners that continue to have this issue. Thank you for confirming that your site did not get the fix.
I’ve asked our engineering team to take a closer look at your site specifically as it seems they are able to manually reset the site in most cases. I’ll reply here as soon as I have more info, thanks!

Our engineers were able to reset your site options and you should now be able to make changes to your menus and site colors as normal. Can you confirm that is working correctly for you now?

I just tested this site.
It appears that I can now (1) modify and save the COLORS, and (2) modify and save the MENU.
So, at first glance anyway, it appears the problems are finally fixed.THANKS for getting this fixed.
