I have an e-mail account ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) that I cannot configure in Mozila. It got disconnected when I migrated the domain http://www.sermaior.org to a wordpress page.
Can you guide me through the process, specially with the servers, so that I can have it back and working sending the answer to (email visible only to moderators and staff)?

Hi there!
It looks like you have your Gmail address as the address to forward to – if you were sending emails from the same Gmail account to your new address, they won’t arrive (Gmail “sees” your own inbox as the originating address and sort of cancels them out). Can you try testing the forwarding from another email address?
Let me know if emailing from a different account doesn’t work and I’ll investigate further!

I was only forwarding for my Gmail as it was not working at all. In fact, it still isn´t working. I think the problem is that I redirected the domain http://www.sermaior.org to wordpress and therefore the correspondent webmail also got the servers wrong from then on. Do you know where to see the web servers for the e-mail in wordpress? Any other way of getting this e-mail account working? I can also reboot the mailbox, but I might loose the page, unless I export it and get it back on again…

- Did you already an email address set up with your domain registrar? If so, you can change your DNS settings here at WordPress.com to make sure that email address works. Your email host will need to give you the correct settings. Then, you can add those records here:

Click Edit. Then, click Edit DNS, and add the records your email host gave you.If you need assistance with this, please send us all the setup information that your email host gave you.

Hi all,
What happened was I registed the sermaior.org domain with amen.pt (local register provider). Then I created a webmail there ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). After that, when developing the page, I updated my wordpress blog and directed it to sermaior.org. Then the mail stopped working and I need to recover it. That is my problem, to find out how to solve this!

Hello! That makes a lot more sense, now that we have those details.
You will need to obtain the custom DNS records from your provider for the email address, (email visible only to moderators and staff). If the information is not available on their website and you are unsure of what to ask, please include the following paragraph when you contact your email provider:
Could you please provide me with the complete MX and/or other DNS records I will need to enter on WordPress.com’s end, so that my email on this domain will function?
The DNS records they give you will consist of one or more MX records, and often an A record and/or a CNAME record as well.
Once you get all that information from them, let me know. Make sure to paste every bit of information they give you into your response to me.
I can help you add those records to your mapped domain (sermaior.org) here at WordPress.com. This will make your email function correctly again.

WordPress.com doesn’t use static IP addresses for websites, so your domain sermaior.org isn’t pointed to a single IP address like that.
If you can get the complete MX records and other DNS records from your email provider, I can help you enter those here at WordPress.com so your email can keep working.

I just added these records for your domain on our end:
- MX 10 mail-pt.securemail.pro 81.88.48.101
- MAIL mail-pt.securemail.pro 81.88.48.101
- SMTP smtp-pt.securemail.pro 81.88.48.66
- WEBMAIL webmail-pt.setupdns.net 81.88.48.1
Those are the email-related records, to make your email work. The other records are related to your domain’s hosting, so if you want to point your domain to your WordPress.com site you don’t need those.
Now, if you point your domain’s name servers to WordPress.com, those records will take effect to keep your email service working. Please let me know if you have questions about that.

You need to update your domain’s name servers to these:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
That way, your WordPress blog will appear at sermaior.org.
I added the mail records your email provider gave you, so your email service will keep working after you make that change.

WordPress.com does not use static IP addresses for sites hosted here, so there isn’t a way to point your domain using IPs. To point your domain to WordPress.com you will need to change the domain’s name servers, as I mentioned earlier. These are the name servers you will need to use with your domain:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

IP addresses at WordPress.com can change over time, but if it’s absolutely necessary here are the current IP addresses for each name server:

Can you please contact your email provider to make sure those are the correct records to keep using their email service while your domain is pointed to WordPress.com? Everything is set up on this end for those records to keep working, so you can keep using that email service.
