WordPress malfunctioning. Need help.
-
Two problems:
In preparing for my part in a blog tour, I suddenly began having problems with WordPress. I saved my first draft. Later, when I tried to insert extra text or an image, everything else disappeared. My saved draft also emptied, showing nothing but the one image inserted.
2. We are accepting comments. When I approve them, some appear on my blog and others don’t. The number of supposedly unapproved remains the same. So, not all comments are uploading and that’s a real problem for those leaving comments on this blog tour, especially since winners will be chosen and they’ll think they’ve been left out. What to do?

Re: draft post
You may be able to recover an earlier Post Revision. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/ Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. If you’re not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modulesThis has been happening for some time now and Staff are aware of the issue. All we Volunteers can advise is to create a post and make it private after typing in the title. Then complete the private post and change the setting to public when you are ready to publish it.
Re: comments
I can’t help with that so I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. -
I switch to HTML mode and
Select All >> Copy
before saving draft – I also use an offline editor (Windows Live Writer) for doing most of the Post and getting things real close before uploading the Post and doing the fine tuning of the look online

I’m having this issue today as well. I tried creating a new post just to see what would happen, but no text will show unless I highlight all. It’s affecting all of my posts, draft or final in the dashboard. I tried checking out the post revisions as well, but clicking on screen options under any post doesn’t actually show anything. If I try going to screen options under all posts, that’ll display some options, but none of them are related to post revisions.

I’m having the same problem. Can’t even switch to HTML mode. No tabs on the edit page work.
-
Also having this problem. I can enter a title for the new post, but the main text entry box stays blank and the edit tools bar is missing.
-
Same problem. Just went to complete a draft I saved earlier but all the text appears to be gone, until you highlight the text box it – then it shows with all the html coding too. The Word Count at the bottom of all my posts (checked old published posts as well) says ‘0’.
As it is happening on all my saved posts, it is not that I didn’t save my draft properly.

Please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
If that doesn’t work for you, please tell us which blog you’re having trouble with, and which browser (and version of) you’re using.
-
Done the cookie/cache clear – no effect. Browsers tried are Firefox 13 and Chrome 19. Blog is northessexastro.wordpress.com
-
-
northessexas, are you able to access Users -> Personal Settings in your Dashboard and check or uncheck the HTTPS setting?
-
-
Yes. I can.
It’s UNCHECKED. Do you want me to check it?
Browser Connection Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages (Learn More)
-
Yes, please try checking it, then clear your browser’s cache.
Hopefully that makes a difference.

Are either of your familiar with Chrome’s Developer Tools or Firebug http://getfirebug.com/ ?
If so, would you mind quoting any JavaScript errors that you see?
-
-
The same question posted above (developer tools or firebug w/ error report) applies then.
