  Is there a wordpress manual in pdf format? I find it difficult to wade through the on-line version. Thanks.

  There are books you can purchase about using WordPress.
  But I’d recommend this:

  Are you aware that there are different flavors of WordPress? Lots of the info online and in books applies to wp.ORG and won’t be useful for wp.COM

  I found “WordPress for Dummies” by Lisa Sabine-Wilson very helpful when I started – covers both versions of WordPress.
