WordPress Menus broken!

  • Unknown's avatar

I am not sure what happened.

At the moment in the admin section under menu when I look at the menus nearly all the options have been changed to “Custom Link” with no actual link attached to them.

If I try and update them it says it updates it, however when I view the page the menu is attached to the menu item doesn’t appear at all, or shows the name but is not a link, it just text.

When I go to the page and use the “Customize” option it sometimes lets me add a menu item, but most of the time its the same thing as in the admin menu section.

I have tried disabling all plugins but no change. I have no idea what is causing this. If anyone can at least point me in a direction to look at this that would be amazing.

    Thank you.

  • Hi –

Which site are you working on? Can you share the URL here?

Are you working from a browser or via the app? Which type and version?

    Hello Liz,

An example of one of our broken menus is: http://www.hollandcollege.com/future-students/

You will see under “Program Information” and “College Life” how there are empty lines. Those use to be links and I cannot restore them.

I have tried disabling all plugins, updating and rolling back wordpress core/themes/plugins nothing seems to work.

I am working from a browser. Its the same in FireFox, Chrome, IE, Edge.
