WordPress Mod_Security and Tor

I tried to log in to a site called “Youarelaw.org” which redirects one to a link https://www.youarelaw.org/wp-login.php

It used to work while using Tor, but now it brings me to a page saying simply this:

    “Not Acceptable!

An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.”

I have to be honest: I am holocaust levels of rage about anything like this–the systematic punishment of people who (wiser than the rest) want to maintain privacy. That is such a baseline human need, and since WP is a huge portion of all websites on the clearnet, their ability (or will?) to handle Tor traffic dictates in large part whether or not practically most of the internet at all is usable for Tor users (and I suspect many VPN users as well.

A cursory search through the threads on this forum shows people having similar issues about this for years. I noticed some of the WP crew stating that there is no attempt at particularly blocking Tor traffic on their part; but some of the resources WP uses clearly does. What is it going to take on WP’s part (including those WP relies on, e.g. whatever/whomever Mod_Security is) to knock this kind of thing off? Thank God WP at least doesn’t use the human-farming operation that is “captcha”–I will definitely give them commends for that.

Regardless of the general frustration on this topic…
Who knows: what can I do to get past this “Mod_Security” error, without compromising on using privacy protection? The “Not Acceptable!” message is not acceptable.

You are in the wrong forum as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform but is hosted by Bluehost. You could try to contact Bluehost support.

Thank you much for that info.

Do you know why, though, the link reads “……./wp-login” if it’s not wordpress?

How did you determine it was bluehost?

    (it’s not my site btw)

That site uses the open source wordpress.org.
Whoishostingthis.com is one of the sites you can use to find the hosting.
