WordPress Monetisation (Eligibility)

    Hello,
I wanted to learn more about using wordpress ads on my site. My site is currently completely free, so I understand that as of right now I am currently unable to earn anything from ads on my site, I just wanted to learn more for future reference.

I have seen before that to be eligible you need to have a paid domain and an upgraded site. But I have seen before that there are also other ways in which you need to be eligible, such as with the type of content you make as well as the amount of traffic your site receives I would assume on a monthly basis.
For my own future reference, what sort of monthly statistics (views, likes etc) does one need to be able to be eligible to work with wordpress with the ad revenue? And would someone who does book reviews be eligible content wise?

    Thank you in advance,
    Laura

    Hello @lifeandteablog,

Sites on free plans can also monetise their site in many other ways. You can see an overview of different options here:

If you are interested in adding Third Party Advertisements, you can achieve that by purchasing a Business plan on WordPress.com. Else you can opt for advertisements by WordPress.com called WordAds.

Requirements and eligible sites will be listed on the Apply For WordAds page.

If your site is on our Premium, Business or eCommerce plans, you are automatically eligible for WordAds!

I strongly recommend you read through all the links provided in this post to gain a better understanding of monetising you site. Reading through here links will help you relate to the provided information in respect to your site. It will help you make an informed decision.
