WordPress multisite Main site not working…. sub-domains working fine

  am having wordpress multisite with latest wordpress version.. but recently am getting “Error establishing database connection” message only for the main site. but all other subdomains are working fine.. even the admin area of subdomains workings but the main site admin area not working..

  for example example.com & example.com/wp-admin are not working, but sub1.example.com and sub1.example.com/wp-admin are working…

  This forum is about the WordPress.ORG version of the software, which you do not have, it seems.
