WordPress native gallery not working

  Hi,

  Strange thing happens: in the backend I create a gallery in a blog post using the native wordpress gallery. It looks good in the backend, but once I save the blog post, in the frontend I see a totally different gallery! With sometimes many more images that I never selected.

  I use the classic editor and I am not using the default theme. I’m afraid to switch to a default theme, because I don’t want to loose all that I created…

  I always was able to use this gallery and it’s simple and easy for me.

  I deactivated plugins to see where this is coming from, but nothing. I can’t remember when this actually started.

  Example: https://www.bike4travel.nl/blog/wat-is-bikepacking-en-wat-heb-je-nodig/ –> halfway the page.

  I tried google, but no answer for me there either. Anyone knows what’s happening here?

  But, it’s happening in any other blog post that has a gallery.

  That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
