WordPress need to remove the ‘like’ button from the reader
-
It’s about time WordPress remove their ‘like’ button from reader.
When a blog has likes button removed from website, it should reflect the reader dashboard too.
If wordpress did this, i would not hesitate to remove. I on I am not alone in this.In the meantime I have someone very annoying I would like to block. Another feature you ought to start doing, where instead of remove option I could choose to click instead block. This would soon sort issue of a blogger I am having.

If the ‘like’ feature reflected on reader like my blog, as I have removed the like button off my blog completely, I wouldn’t need the block button.
Anyone who gets removed from my folliw list, 4 times in space of 5 mins, as doing it again today, would get the message they are not wanted. I seriously have a ‘stalker’ of a follower I do not want and can’t do anything about. Please reflect your reader to reflect my blog, by removing like off reader. -
Hi there,
As a colleague mentioned before,
It is not possible to remove the Like button from the Reader. You can disable Likes on your site so they won’t display on your posts, but you can’t prevent people from actually liking posts. The only way to prevent that is to set your site to private so only people you specifically invite can see it.
If you don’t want to receive an email every time someone likes one of your posts you can disable that notification under My Site ->Settings ->Discussion.
There is no effective way to block subscribers, so it would be ineffective to provide the ability to manually unfollow or unsubscribe a user. A follower could create a new account, username, or e-mail address and refollow the blog. Since IP addresses are dynamic, blocking the address would not work either. Also, other users who are currently on the same IP address might inadvertently be blocked as well.
However, I have a few recommendations: Make sure comment moderation is turned on Settings > Discussion so that all comments have to be approved. That way nothing will get through to the public side of your site without your approval.
Alternatively, you can set your site to private and then invite only those that you desire to view your site.
Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
