WordPress needs Private Messaging…
-
Why? I do not like e-mailing bloggers. Private messaging would be a great way for people to feel more connected to other bloggers, and give a sense of community.
Example: I wish to tell a blogger they made a huge error of spelling in the post. Do not wish to embarass them in the comments in public. Do not want to e-mail them, as I do not really know them at all.
So, the error goes, and noone comments, sees the error. Blogger has no idea why no stats or comments on the post.
Conclusion: Private messaging system would fix this problem. It could be in the notifications, on the button in the top right hand corner.
Many Bloggers are discussing the issue.
Rather have private messaging than the ‘likes” function.

Definitely a good idea. I’ve thought how nice it would be to have private messaging several times since I started blogging in June. It would be useful to correct spelling, grammar, general appearance changes or advice on writing etc.

This is a great idea. There have been times when I would have liked to pursue a conversation on/about a post, but it became too awkward to use comments (and too public).
