WordPress Newbie Help

    Hi everyone. So I decided to start a travel blog at http://willshootfortravel.wordpress.com/

    I got really excited and decided to buy the domain name myself and do the blog there. So I bought the domain and started tinkering with it as well…. (all while I still had the first one still open). I decided to run a little comparison and I’ve noticed something and not sure why it’s happening. Every time I post a new blog I get new followers in the blog that worldpress hosts. When I post on my own domain (www.willshootfortravel.com) it reaches no one. Can someone please explain how come the blog that is hosted by wordpress itself is getting readers is getting likes and follows already while my self hosted site isin’t?

    I’m assuming wordpress must have some sort of community where people can just randomly find different wordpress blogs, but somehow my self hosted wordpress site isin’t getting any hits. Someone please give me some insight. I know there has to be a reason but I can’t figure it out.

    WordPress.com has vastly more SEO than self-hosted blogs, for a number of reasons. One reason is the tag/category system and the Reader. Another is the huge number of blogs hosted here; the more blogs hosted on a domain, the more SEO each one has.
