WordPress not allowing me to add pictures?

  I’ve been using WordPress for nearly a year and never had this problem, but today I wrote a new post and tried to add some pictures and they won’t show up. If I attempt to insert a picture to the post, it’ll appear in visual edit mode, but not in HTML edit mode or preview. I tried several different pictures to make sure it wasn’t a problem with the image file itself, and I even copied and pasted the entire post into a different draft to see if that would help. No luck. Also, I managed to add a gif with no problems, and I haven’t changed the template or anything.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello there,
  Which browser and version of it are your using? Have you tried any troubleshooting?

  • You could have a browser issue so try changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookies – instructions for specific browsers.
  • Note that when you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.
  • You could try upgrading your browser.
  • You could try using another browser.

  Accepted file types for images are:
  Images
  .jpg
  .jpeg
  .png
  .gif

  I’m using Internet Explorer 8. I upgraded it to Explorer 9 to see if that helped, but it didn’t, so I went back to 8 and cleared the browser cache and cookies. All the files are .jpeg, so that’s not the issue. I also read the troubleshooting article before posting on the forum, but none of the points were applicable.

  What exactly do you experience?
  Example: I click ___ and then ___ happens

  I go through the regular actions for adding a picture… Add an image, select files, insert into post. I can resize and everything in visual mode, but the image disappears as soon as I try to preview it or if I go into HTML edit mode. I tried publishing it without previewing anything to see if that would help, but it didn’t.
